Scholarships and Grants

The College offers Physician Assistant students a number of grants and scholarships. Applicants are also encouraged to request information and application forms from clubs, organizations, foundations and agencies as soon as possible after applying for admission to the program. The Internet and many libraries have information on various sources of funding.

Scholarships and grants are usually awarded on the basis of a combination of academic performance and financial need.

Presidential Grants and Scholarships:

The College provides eligible Physician Assistant Students with annual grants up to $5000 per year to assist with offsetting the cost of education.  These awards are based on academic performance and/or financial need.

Armed Services Scholarship Programs:

The Army, Navy and Air Force provide Health Profession Scholarships (HPSP) to PA students that cover complete tuition payment, required books and fees plus a monthly living stipend.  HPSP scholarship recipients are commissioned as officers and required to serve in the military for a specific period of time, depending upon the number of years the recipient received the HPSP scholarship.  Applications and additional information are available directly from local Army, Navy and Air Force recruitment offices that are located throughout the United States.

The U.S. Public Health Service

The U.S. Public Health Service has several programs that offer scholarships, stipends and loan repayment to PA students who commit to varying periods of employment in medically undeserved settings. Information on these programs may be obtained by calling 1(800) 221-9393 or visiting the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) web site. One program offered by the U.S. Public Health Service is the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholars Program.  We strongly urge PA applicants to consider application to the NHSC program.
