Message from the Alumni Association President,
Thomas J. Landry, O.D. '87

From my first visit to PCO twenty-five years ago, I was impressed with the students, faculty and, most of all, with the College’s progressive technology and facilities. As a student, I found myself feeling more enthusiastic and optimistic about the profession I had chosen with each class and clinical experience. I graduated from PCO in 1987 full of confidence, knowing that I was completely prepared for the challenges that lay ahead of me.

PCO has always helped its students and alumni adapt to meet health care’s ever-changing demands. That tradition continues with our upcoming transformation to Salus University. As a proud alumnus, I feel strongly that adding new and diverse programs will strengthen this institution. This change to Salus University will ensure that our Optometric program remains one of the premier programs in the world, while at the same time it will give us closer ties to other healthcare fields. I know that the Audiology, Vision Rehabilitation and Physician Assistant programs at our new University will also be among the best and most challenging programs in their fields.

Regardless of the specific college where our loyalties may lie, we will all be linked by and to Salus University. I encourage each of you to have a lifelong relationship with your alma mater. Stay in touch, stay involved, be a supporter. Volunteer on an Alumni Association committee; become a preceptor, an admissions ambassador, or a part of a Bennett Center program; donate each year to the Annual Fund. You’ll be guaranteeing continued success for Salus University each time you do.
