Susan Oleszewski, O.D., M.A.

Education:

  • B.S., O.D., Pennsylvania College of Optometry
  • M.A., Temple University

Prior to attending PCO, Dr. Oleszewski was a biology major at Bradley University, in Peoria, Ill.  She also has a master’s degree in molecular biology from Temple University.  Dr. Oleszewski has worked in many positions at PCO.  She was the Associate Dean for Clinical Sciences  and the Interim Vice President and Executive Director of Patient Care Services. Dr. Oleszewski also worked as a preceptor, a clinical instructor, the Chief of Primary Care Module 5 and the Director of Clinical Services at TEI.  In addition to her work at PCO, she also worked as a staff optometrist at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. and the Afcon Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Oleszewski was also instrumental in implementing the new curriculum for the College’s optometry students.  The new curriculum focuses on clinical problem solving and prepares our graduates for the challenges involved in diagnosing and treating vision problems.

Role at PCO:

As Vice President and Executive Director of Patient Care Services, she is in charge of patient care at The Eye Institute (TEI) and the College’s satellite clinics in the Strawberry Mansion and Mt. Airy sections of Philadelphia.

Dr. Oleszewski is an Associate Professor of Basic and Clinical Science at the College. She is the Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences and as such administers the internal and external clinical programs at PCO. In addition, she teaches Ocular Biology and her clinical practice is at The Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Clinical specialty:

Primary Care Optometry

Her clinical interests are in the diagnosis and management of the glaucomas and anterior segment disease. She has lectured to optometric organizations throughout the country and internationally.
