Role at PCO
Dr. Di Stefano holds the position of Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs and is charged with the overall responsibility for the quality and extent of the educational and research programs delivered by the College. This includes the implementation of the academic policy; the curriculum; the provision of a research environment; and technical support for the education, research and service program of the college. He is also responsible for the Library; technical services and instructional media; the advisory programs; and faculty support, training, and career development.
In addition to his duties as Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Di Stefano was the Executive Director from 1996 to 2006 of the World Council of Optometry, an international organization dedicated to the advancement of eye care around the world. He is also an Associate Professor of Public Health at PCO and represents PCO through academic programs world wide.
Dr. Di Stefano has extensive teaching experience in the areas of community health, epidemiology, health care policy and organization, and optometric jurisprudence. He has served as a consultant for the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education to evaluate professional degree programs at schools and colleges nationwide.
